This project for a family home in the Jizera Mountains, realized by the LUNI studio, is an example of a thoughtful connection between contemporary architecture and the surrounding landscape. The design by architects Lukáš Janout and Nina Ratočková Pevná focuses on clean lines, functional layout, and natural light.
The dominant element of the design concept is visual and functional continuity between the interior and exterior of the home. The space is designed to promote direct visual contact with the surrounding mountains, which is encouraged by a restrained color scheme and minimalist details. The architects insisted on materials that ensure long-term durability, easy maintenance, and high aesthetic standards.
The interior features TechniStone® engineered stone in the Ambiente Light design, a light grey decor with a matte surface finish. The material is a key design element of both the kitchen and bathroom spaces. Its neutral tone blends perfectly with natural materials such as wood and concrete, emphasizing the clean architectural lines of the entire interior.
Ambiente Light also offers a high level of utility to the client. Thanks to its compact structure, it’s resistant to mechanical and chemical wear, has low absorbency, and is easy to maintain. In the context of residential architecture, it thus provides reliable aesthetic quality and long-term functionality.
This project in the Jizera Mountains demonstrates how engineered stone can be effectively integrated into interiors that require both high utility and architectural simplicity. It provides architects and designers with inspiration for using Technistone's Ambiente Light where the goal is combining modern design with the context of the environment and requirements for long-term sustainability.
