When Dominika Onofrejová decided to open her own café in Blatná, Slovakia, she knew exactly what she wanted: a space that links her family’s history and traditional pastry-making techniques with timeless design. We at Technistone are proud that our engineered stone products have become part of her exceptional place of business.
The heart of the interior, designed by the MENO! Architectural studio, is a sales counter made from our engineered stone in Noble Concrete Grey — the key element of the café that excels in both its aesthetic and functional roles. The original idea of using black stone in the space gave way to a lighter and more harmonious grey color that goes perfectly with the black, pink, and wooden elements of the interior.
The choice of our material was no accident. TechniStone® was the obvious choice thanks to its high resistance to stains, scratches, and everyday use, qualities that are essential in a busy coffeehouse. As the café’s owner says, “Children are leaning on it, things get spilled on it, but the sales counter always looks like new. TechniStone® really is an indestructible material.”
The Slovak firm Sial provided fabrication services for the stone surfaces. They completed the project in three days, with actual installation taking only five hours.
Kavárna Fabrika is an example of how our products can support not only a good design concept, but also everyday activities in a busy public space. We are glad that we could be part of an interior where delicious pastries are baked with love — and served with elegance.
